It depends on the statement about the item. If it is on backorder
or is a special order item you should be able to add it to your shopping
cart and order it. Amazon.com will then try to acquire the item for you
and notify you when it arrives.
If it is not available,
THIS TITLE IS CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. The publisher is out of
stock. If you would like to purchase this title, we recommend that
you occasionally check this page to see if it's been reprinted.
then it's not even available to backorder, it's out of print with no
known restock available.
This means that Amazon.com no longer has a record of the calendar; they are
completely sold out with no backorder possible from the publisher.
We then rebuilt our site (automatically) and our rebuilding program
creates a "File-Not-Found" page.
Unfortunately we do not do fundraisers. But we have several leads
and suggestions.
The http://www.calendaroutlet.com
is a fund raising company, but I don't think they will do custom
or imprinted calendars. Apparently the Calendar Outlet no longer
exists! (It appears that the calendaroutlet is no longer online.)
Look in your local yellow pages or the closest large city YPs for
a print shop that makes custom calendars or look under "Calendars"
for companies that print calendars, this can be a mix of retailers,
wholesalers and marketing firms.
Look in your local yellow pages under Advertising - Promotional
Products for a company that creates calendars.
We do not produce commercial, custom or imprinted calendars. These
are calendars with your pictures and/or information printed on the calendar.
We do however have links to such calendar companies the following pages.
We are interested in selling your calendar(s). We prefer to sell
calendars as an affiliate of the publishers site or via Amazon.com.
Here are the possible ways to sell via the Calendar Connection.
Do you have an affiliate program we can join?
If not, we suggest you look at the clicktrade.com program.
If so, please send us the URL for us to join.
Do you have any way to track orders orginating from our site?
If so, send us the info for us to setup a page on our site
that links to your site.
You can register with Amazon.com to sell your calendars and we will
resell from Amazon. Just let us know about your calendars.
We may setup a simple order form that lists your calendars, using
your server for images and process the orders securely and forward
the orders to you via email. We then bill you monthly for a 20%
commission on all calendars sold by us.
We reserve the right to review the product and decide if this is
worth our cost.
Assuming you are an individual or small calendar publisher we will
list it on our Custom/Exclusive/Charity calendar page.
To list your calendar we need:
URL:
Title:
Description:
We ask for one calendar to be sent to us for the listing:
Calendar Connection
1605 St. Williams Loop
Round Rock, TX 78681
Probably not going to be much help unfortunately, but here are some ideas.
Many of these "local" or "specialty" calendars are produced and marketed
locally, sometimes "onsite" (at a stadium or event), the local market is
so large and/or specific they don't have to invest in national marketing
and distribution.
The first place is the Indians organization, they should have a public
relations or customer relations phone number.
Next would be local sporting goods stores, memorabilia/collector shops
and gift stores that carry sports items.
You can self publish or if your calendar is perceived by a publisher as
great or unique, they might publish it and give you a portion of the net
sales. Say 10%, maybe more if you are a known author, artist or celebrity.
If you wish to publish the calendar yourself, the Internet can make it
much easier and more likely to make money on the calendar. You can
have a local printer, who does calendars, print the calendar for you
or you can find calendar printers who specialize in printing them.
If you look at a listing it has a price and/or discount listed,
but when you click on the link and go to the Amazon.com page the
price is not discounted. This is because we build our site once a week
(during Oct, Nov, Dec., once a month otherwise) from Amazon.com information.
So our site can be out of synch with Amazon's "updated" information/prices.
They will remove the discount for several reasons; low margin, small purchase
from publisher, low volume sales, new calendar, discontinued sale, etc.
This is why we put the following statement at the top of our listings.
NOTE:
Listed prices may not be current. Please select item(s) to
verify price and place your order.
Sorry for misguiding you in anyway. We just can't afford to rebuild the
entire site more often than weekly or monthly depending on the schedule.
There is no calendar grave yard, except at the local dumps. But, if you would
like to recieve calendars from the past for arts and crafts projects at
your school or church, we have several ideas;
We suggest you write a simple note at the end
of December to send home with the children, asking their parents for
any old calendars they are throwing out.
If you have a school newsletter or local newspaper you might drop
them a note and ask for them to "announce" it to the community.
We are also looking into a Calendar Recycling program, to make more
people aware of recycling to their local schools.
Another calendar site has this now,
http://www.ecals.com/site/recycle.htm.
So, you want to know my trade secrets of how I maintain more than 10,000
items for sale with no employees and very little time or effort.
The www.calendarconnection.com"
site contains over 1300 HTML files. It is built automatically by several
scripts written by Third Rock.
A master control list defines what strings should be searched for
on Amazon.com and then subpages are created with the Amazon results
converted to look like Calendar Connection pages.
The biggest challenge is keeping the master control list updated with
the latest popular people, places and events that have been "calendarized"
(a calendar created with them as the subject or theme).
It is regenerated every week from October through March, then
once a month from April through September. Our "year" runs from June 1
through May 31, because in general new calendars begin arriving around
June of each year.
